Issa Rae secured a prestigious Peabody Award, giving praise and props to the wildly popular and witty HBO series Insecure that she created.

Rae has entertained audiences to two successful seasons with the hit show, which was adapted from her bestselling book, The Misadventures Of Awkward Black Girl.

Issa Rae is surely riding high with this new adventure and a Peabody accolade under her belt. The Peabody recognizes and “honors the most powerful, enlightening, and invigorating stories in television, radio, and online media.”

And in typical outspoken Issa Rae fashion she tweeted: “Pop that Peabody!”
